About CPTS

  • Cardinal Pediatric Therapy Services is a good fit for:

    • First-time parents with questions about development and milestones

    • Busy families who need therapy that fits real schedules

    • Single parents/caregivers looking for support and guidance

    • Families who live far from a pediatric clinic and prefer care closer to home

    • Parents who want customized, evidence-based care for their child

    • Daycare and school staff looking for ways to support movement and mobility

No mater your situation, the goal is to make getting support feel clear and manageable, not scary, drawn out, or overwhelming.  Share what you're seeing and what your child needs, and we'll work with you in a way that respects your family and meets you where you are.

  • Cardinal Pediatric Therapy Services provides home and community based pediatric physical therapy for children ages 0 - 18 across Hampton Roads and surrounding areas.

    Care may support:

    • Gross motor skills (big movements like rolling, crawling, walking, running)

    • Strength, balance, and coordination

    • Mobility and movement for daily routines

    • Support for participation at home, school, and in the community

How it works: We look at the whole child — daily routines, environment, and family goals — and create a plan that helps skills carry over into real life. Sessions happen where your child is most comfortable: at home, at a playground, at school, or in the community.

CPTS is committed to innovative, evidence-based, and family-centered care — with your family’s values guiding the plan and goals.

  • Because CPTS isn't tied to a traditional clinic schedule, we can be flexible and tind times that work for your child and your family.

    Scheduling is build around:

    • Nap and feeding/meal times

    • School/daycare routines

    • Caregiver availability

    • Your family's preferences and values

Share what days/times tend to work best, and we'll find a schedule that supports consistent progress.

  • Pretty much anywhere your child needs support — at home and out in the community.

    • Love hiking, but your child struggles on trails (like Freedom Park)? We can meet you there.

    • Working on skills for everyday outings (like sitting up in a grocery cart at the store)? We can meet you there.

    • Prefer to skip the extra appointments and have care at home — especially if your child has aged out of early intervention?
      We’ll come to you.

    • Does your child attend a private school where supports aren’t readily available? We can collaborate with your child’s school to support their day-to-day success.

The goal is simple: therapy in your child’s natural environments, built around your family’s values and goals.

  • Kids often make the strongest progress when skills are learned and practiced in the places they use them every day — at home, at school, and out in the community.

    • Practicing in real-life settings creates more natural opportunities to repeat and build skills.

    • Therapy plans are built around your child’s routines, so progress feels practical and achievable.

    • When parents and caregivers are involved, it builds confidence and helps carry skills over between sessions.

    • Using tools and supplies you already have makes it easier to keep momentum at home.

Traditional outpatient clinics can offer helpful equipment and resources, but those skills don’t always translate into day-to-day life. CPTS focuses on bringing therapy into your child’s natural environments to support meaningful progress, inclusion, and connection.

Our mission is simple: service that makes friends.

CPTS provides home and community based pediatric physical therapy for ages 0-18 across Hampton Roads.  Care is personalized to your child's routines so  progress carries over into everyday life.
